Google Tasks

Connect Google Tasks to Quin to automatically turn meeting notes, commitments, and reminders into synced tasks. Stay organized with two-way sync between Quin and your task list.

Connecting Google Tasks to Quin automatically creates tasks from your meetings, conversations, and commitments. Tasks sync both ways, so updates in either system stay current across both platforms.

Before you begin

You need a Google account with access to Google Tasks.

How to set it up

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Click Add Integration
  3. Select Google Tasks from the list
  4. Click Connect and sign in to your Google account
  5. Review the permissions Quin requests (read and write access to your tasks)
  6. Click Allow to complete the connection

Your Google Tasks integration will now appear as “Active” in your Integrations page.

What to expect

After connecting Google Tasks, Quin automatically creates tasks when you mention commitments, reminders, or action items in conversations. Tasks update in both directions, so marking something complete in Google Tasks immediately reflects in Quin, and vice versa.

Examples:

  • You say "Remind me to send the proposal tomorrow" and Quin creates a task in Google Tasks with the correct due date
  • You mark a task complete in Google Tasks and it instantly updates in Quin
  • You mention a meeting follow-up in Quin and it appears as a new task in Google Tasks

How it works

Quin keeps your tasks synchronized between both systems:

Automatic task creation - When you mention follow-ups or commitments in Quin, they automatically become tasks in Google Tasks with appropriate due dates.

Two-way sync - Mark a task complete in Google Tasks and it updates in Quin instantly. Complete a task in Quin and it syncs to Google Tasks.

Due date reminders - Quin reminds you about upcoming tasks from your Google Tasks list during your daily check-ins.

Meeting follow-ups - Action items captured during meetings automatically appear as tasks in Google Tasks, organized by project or list.

Managing the integration

To disconnect Google Tasks:

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find the Google Tasks integration
  3. Click Disconnect
  4. Confirm to stop syncing

Disconnecting stops all future syncing between Quin and Google Tasks. Existing tasks in both systems remain unchanged.

Troubleshooting

Tasks I create in Quin aren't appearing in Google Tasks

  • Verify the integration is still connected in Settings > Integrations
  • Check that you have permission to create tasks in your Google account
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

Tasks I complete in Google Tasks still show as open in Quin

  • Give the sync a few seconds to update
  • Refresh your Quin page to see the latest changes
  • Check your internet connection is stable

Due dates aren't syncing correctly

  • Verify your timezone is set correctly in both Quin and Google account settings
  • Check that you specified a clear date when creating the task
  • Try editing the due date in Google Tasks and see if it updates in Quin
