Dex

Connecting Dex to Quin automatically syncs your meetings, notes, and follow-ups with your personal relationship manager. Quin logs interactions, updates contact timelines, and helps you maintain relationships by tracking conversations and reminding you when to follow up.

Before you begin

You need an active Dex account with contacts you want to track.

How to set it up

1. Go to Settings > Integrations
2. Click Add Integration
3. Select Dex from the list
4. Click Connect and sign in to your Dex account
5. Review the permissions Quin requests (read and write access to your contacts)
6. Click Allow to complete the connection

Your Dex integration will now appear as "Active" in your Integrations page.

What to expect

After connecting Dex, Quin automatically logs meetings, notes, and interactions to the right contacts in your Dex account. When you mention someone by name in conversation or finish a meeting, Quin matches the contact in Dex and updates their relationship timeline. Quin also tracks follow-up reminders and helps you stay connected with overdue contacts.

Examples:

• You mention "Lunch with Priya at République" in chat and Quin logs the interaction in Dex automatically
• You finish a client call and Quin adds the summary to the contact in Dex with a follow-up reminder
• You ask "When did I last talk to Marcus?" and Quin pulls the information from Dex instantly
• Quin reminds you about contacts you haven't connected with recently based on your Dex relationship data

How it works

Quin uses your Dex account to maintain complete relationship records:

Automatic contact matching - When you mention a name in conversation or meetings, Quin finds the matching contact in Dex and updates their record.

Interaction logging - Meetings, calls, emails, and casual mentions automatically log to contact timelines in Dex with dates and context.

Relationship timeline sync - Every conversation detail, commitment, and follow-up appears on the appropriate contact's timeline in Dex.

Follow-up reminders - When you mention following up with someone, Quin creates reminders and tracks them in Dex to keep relationships active.

Context retrieval - Ask Quin about any contact and it pulls current information from your Dex records, including past interactions and notes.

Personalized communication - Quin drafts follow-up emails and messages using context from Dex contact records to maintain authentic relationships.

Managing the integration

To disconnect Dex:

1. Go to Settings > Integrations
2. Find the Dex integration
3. Click Disconnect
4. Confirm to stop syncing

Disconnecting stops Quin from accessing your Dex contacts and logging new interactions. Existing data in Dex remains unchanged.

Troubleshooting

Quin can't find a contact I know exists in Dex

• Check that the contact name matches exactly in Dex
• Verify the integration is still connected in Settings > Integrations
• Try using the contact's full name or email address instead
• Make sure the contact isn't archived in Dex

Meeting notes aren't appearing in Dex

• Confirm the integration shows as "Active" in Settings > Integrations
• Check that you mentioned the contact's name during the meeting or in the meeting title
• Verify you have write permissions for contacts in your Dex account
• Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration

Interactions are logging to the wrong contact

• Make sure contact names are unique in your Dex account
• Use full names when mentioning people to help Quin match correctly
• Check if multiple contacts share similar names and disambiguate them
• Manually correct the entry in Dex and Quin will learn from the correction

Follow-up reminders aren't syncing

• Verify you mentioned a specific follow-up action or timeline
• Check that the contact exists in Dex before the reminder is created
• Confirm your Dex integration has permission to create reminders
• Try creating a reminder manually in Quin to trigger the sync
