Google Drive
Connect Google Drive to Quin to access documents, create new files, and organize content. Quin can search your Drive, add files, and move them to folders.
Connect your Google Drive account to let Quin access, create, and organize your documents. When you need information from stored files, Quin can search your Drive and incorporate relevant content into responses. You can also ask Quin to create new documents or move files to specific folders, streamlining your document management.
Before you begin
You need a Google Drive account with documents you want Quin to access.
How to set it up
- Go to Integrations in your Quin settings
- Find Google Drive in the list of available integrations
- Click Connect
- Sign in to your Google account when prompted
- Review the permissions Quin is requesting
- Click Allow to authorize the connection
After connecting, Quin can search your Drive, create new files, and organize documents into folders.
What to expect
After connecting Google Drive, Quin can access your documents when you ask questions or request information that might be in your files. For example, if you ask "What did we decide about the Q4 budget?" and the answer is in a Drive document, Quin searches your files and provides the relevant information. You can also ask Quin to create new documents like "Create a meeting agenda in my Projects folder" or "Move last week's report to the Archive folder." Quin handles file creation and organization without you needing to switch apps or manually find folders.
How Quin uses your Drive files
Quin accesses your Google Drive files when relevant to your conversation. The system searches your documents based on your questions and pulls in pertinent information to provide accurate, context-aware responses. When you ask Quin to create files, it saves them to your Drive in the location you specify or in your main Drive folder by default. When organizing files, Quin moves them to the folders you indicate. Your existing files remain secure, and Quin only makes changes when you explicitly request them.
Troubleshooting
Quin can't find information that exists in my Drive files
- Check that the file isn't restricted by special permissions
- Verify the file format is supported (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, PDFs, and common document types)
- Try rephrasing your question with more specific keywords from the document
Quin can't create files or move documents to folders
- Verify you granted full Drive permissions during setup, not read-only access
- Check that the target folder exists and you have permission to add files to it
- Go to Integrations and reconnect Google Drive with full permissions
The connection shows as disconnected
- Go to Integrations and reconnect Google Drive
- Check that you haven't revoked Quin's access in your Google Account settings
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration
Quin is referencing outdated information
- Recent changes to Drive files may take a few minutes to be reflected
- Try asking your question again if you just updated a document
- Verify you're looking at the correct version of the file in Drive
