QuickBooks Online

The QuickBooks Online integration connects your accounting platform with Quin, letting you create and update financial records directly from conversation. After client meetings, Quin can log invoices, update customer records, record payments, and pull financial reports without you needing to open QuickBooks.

Before you begin

You need an active QuickBooks Online account with permission to connect third-party integrations. QuickBooks Online does not support delete actions through integrations — Quin can search, create, and update records but cannot delete them.

How to set it up

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations
  2. Click Add Integration
  3. Select QuickBooks Online from the list and click Connect
  4. Follow the OAuth prompts and sign in to your QuickBooks Online account
  5. Review the requested permissions and click Connect

The integration will appear as "Active" on your Integrations page once connected.

What to expect

After connecting QuickBooks Online, Quin can access your customers, vendors, invoices, bills, payments, and financial reports. You can ask Quin to look up an invoice status, create a new customer record after a sales call, log a bill, or pull a P&L summary — all from your Quin chat. Quin does not delete records in QuickBooks Online, so all changes are additive or updates to existing entries.

How Quin works with QuickBooks Online

With QuickBooks Online connected, your financial data is always within reach. Here’s what you can ask Quin to do:

  • Look up customers and vendors without opening QuickBooks
  • Create or update invoices and bills after client calls
  • Log and track customer payments
  • Pull financial reports like P&L, balance sheet, or cash flow on demand

Troubleshooting

Quin can't find a customer or vendor

  • Verify the record exists in QuickBooks Online with the exact name you used
  • Try using the customer's company name or email address for more accurate matching

An invoice or bill wasn't created

  • Check that all required fields were included in your request — QuickBooks typically requires a customer, line item, and amount
  • Verify your QuickBooks Online account has permission to create transactions

Financial reports aren't returning data

  • Confirm the date range you specified is valid and that data exists for that period
  • Some report types may require specific QuickBooks Online plan tiers — check your subscription level if a report type isn't available

The integration won't connect
