Quin relies on frontier AI models to interpret natural language, which means it's making its best judgment call rather than following a fixed script. Vague instructions, missing context, or data that hasn't synced yet from a connected tool can all lead Quin to a different result than you intended. This is a known limitation of current AI technology, not just Quin.

The clearer your instructions, the more consistently Quin gets it right. A few ways to improve your results:

• Be specific about what you want, including names, dates, and other key details
• Break complex requests into smaller steps instead of one long instruction
• Set up Guidelines for instructions you want Quin to follow every time, so you don't have to repeat yourself

If Quin makes a mistake

Mistakes are usually easy to fix. Try one of the following:

• Tell Quin what was wrong and what you'd like instead, in the same conversation - it can usually correct course right away
• Start a new chat and ask again, especially if the conversation has gotten long or gone off track
• Ask Quin to repeat or redo the action if the result seems incomplete or cut off
• Check that the relevant tool is connected and synced in Settings > Integrations, since outdated or missing data is a common cause of incorrect answers

What to expect

Occasional mistakes are a normal part of working with AI, even as the underlying models keep improving. Most issues resolve as soon as you clarify your request or try again, and Quin gets better at anticipating your preferences over time as you add guidelines and correct it in conversation.

Troubleshooting

Quin misunderstood my request

• Rephrase the request with more specific details
• Break it into smaller, single-purpose requests
• Add a Guideline if this is a request you make often

Quin's meeting notes or summary don't match what happened

• Check that the Notetaker joined the full meeting and wasn't disconnected early
• Confirm the meeting recording was available, since a missing or partial recording limits what Quin can capture
• Ask Quin directly to correct or expand on a specific detail in the notes

Quin keeps making the same mistake

• Add a Guideline that spells out exactly how you want that situation handled
• Check that any related integration is still connected in Settings > Integrations
• Contact support if the same error happens repeatedly, so the team can investigate
