How can I optimize credit usage?
Review where your credits are going and adjust workflow settings to use less each month.
If you want to use fewer credits each month, start by seeing where they're going, then adjust the workflows and settings that use the most.
Review your usage breakdown
Go to Billing & usage and look at the usage breakdown by category. This shows exactly how many credits go toward things like Meeting Notetaker, Email Reply, Workflows, and Daily Brief. If most of your credits are going toward a workflow you don't rely on, that's the easiest place to start cutting back.
Turn off workflows you aren't using
Go to Settings > Workflows and turn off any core workflow you don't need, like Notetaker, Reminders, or Daily Brief. Also check for custom workflows that may be turned on but aren't actually being used. Each active workflow uses credits every time it runs, whether or not you're checking the output.
Narrow the scope of the workflows you keep
For the workflows you do use, you can reduce credit usage by limiting how much they process rather than turning them off entirely.
- In Notetaker, set Which meetings should Quin join to Any external meetings or Only meetings I'm the host instead of All meetings, and turn off any post-meeting actions you don't need, like Update CRM contacts or Draft follow-up email
- In Email replies, select only the email accounts Quin should draft for, and narrow Automatically draft replies from from Anyone I've emailed in the past to All contacts in the CRM or Only contacts assigned to me
- Apply similar limits in other workflows connected to email, CRM, or task integrations, so Quin only acts on the accounts and contacts you actually want covered
Keep usage in perspective
Once workflows and scope are dialed in, remaining usage mostly reflects volume, how many meetings you take and emails you send each month, rather than a setting you can adjust. If Quin is saving even an hour a month, it typically costs far less than the time it replaces. Compare your plan's cost to what an hour of your own time, or a team member's time, is worth before assuming usage needs to come down further.
What to expect
After turning off unused workflows and narrowing scope, your credit usage should drop within the next billing cycle. Your Billing & usage page updates in real time, so you can check back after a few days to confirm the change took effect.
Troubleshooting
My credit usage isn't decreasing after making changes
- Confirm the workflow is fully turned off, not just paused, in Settings > Workflows
- Check for custom workflows running on a schedule that may still be active
- Give it a few days, since the usage breakdown reflects a rolling window and won't update instantly
I can't tell which workflow is using the most credits
- Use the By Category view on Billing & usage to see the exact credit split across Notetaker, Email Reply, Workflows, and other categories
- Switch to the By User view if you're on a team plan and want to see usage per teammate
