Generate API keys to connect Quin to external tools and AI assistants via MCP. Use Quin's calendar, CRM, and other tools directly from Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, and many more.
The API & MCP page lets you generate keys that connect Quin to external tools and AI assistants. Once connected via MCP, tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Zapier, and many more can access Quin's calendar, CRM, and other capabilities directly — returning raw data without routing everything through Quin's chat interface.
Before you begin
- You must have a Quin account
- You'll need access to an MCP-compatible tool such as Claude or ChatGPT
How to set it up
- Go to Account > API & MCP
- Click Add API key
- Enter a Name for the key so you can identify it later (e.g., "Claude" or "Zapier")
- Click Create key
- Copy your key immediately — it will not be shown again
- Paste the key into your external tool when prompted during MCP setup
What to expect
Once connected, MCP-compatible tools like Claude and ChatGPT can access Quin's tools directly — including searching your calendar, updating your CRM, and more. This gives you raw data back in your AI assistant without Quin generating a full response, which is faster and more precise for data-focused tasks. You can create multiple keys to use with different tools and manage them all from the API & MCP page.
Managing API keys
Click the edit icon next to any key to rename it. Click the delete icon to revoke a key permanently. If you suspect a key has been compromised, delete it immediately and create a new one. Treat keys like passwords — anyone with a key can act as you within Quin.
Troubleshooting
My external tool isn't connecting after I paste the key
- Confirm you copied the full key before closing the creation dialog
- If the key was closed without copying, delete it and create a new one
- Check that your external tool supports MCP connections
I need to use Quin with multiple tools
- Create a separate key for each tool so you can manage and revoke them independently
