Texts aren't going through

Fix issues with Quin text messages not sending or being received. Troubleshoot SMS delivery problems, phone number issues, and messaging permissions.

If you're texting Quin or trying to send texts to contacts but messages aren't going through, this is usually caused by phone number configuration issues, carrier problems, or permission settings.

Before you begin

Verify you've added a phone number in Settings > My profile. Quin needs a verified phone number to send and receive texts.

Troubleshooting

Texts I send to Quin aren't getting responses

  • Check that you're texting the correct Quin phone number: +1 (662) 439-7846
  • Verify your phone number is added and verified in Settings > My profile
  • Confirm your mobile carrier allows SMS to short codes or VoIP numbers
  • Try sending a simple message like "Hello" to test the connection
  • Check if your carrier has spam filtering that might block Quin's responses

I'm not receiving texts from Quin

  • Verify your phone number is correct in Settings > My profile
  • Check that you marked your phone as "Default" in your profile
  • Confirm your mobile carrier isn't blocking unknown senders
  • Look for texts in your spam or junk messages folder
  • Make sure you haven't accidentally blocked Quin's number on your phone

Texts work sometimes but not consistently

  • This often indicates carrier-level spam filtering on either end
  • Ask Quin to retry sending the message
  • Try texting at different times of day (carrier filtering can be time-sensitive)
  • Contact your mobile carrier to whitelist Quin's phone number
  • Consider using email or chat instead for more reliable delivery

Group texts or MMS aren't working

  • Quin currently supports SMS text messages only, not MMS or group texts
  • If you send a group text to Quin, it will only respond to you individually
  • Images and media files sent via text aren't supported - use email or file uploads instead
  • For group communications, use email or create tasks instead

International texts aren't being delivered

  • Verify you included the country code in the recipient's phone number (e.g., +44 for UK)
  • Check that Quin supports texting to that country (most major countries supported)
  • International SMS can be delayed by up to several minutes
  • Some countries have strict regulations on automated SMS - delivery isn't guaranteed

What to expect

Text messages typically deliver within seconds, but can take up to 2-3 minutes depending on carriers. If messages consistently take longer or fail, there's likely a configuration or carrier issue.

Common questions

Why can't I send texts from Quin's web interface?

Quin's texting feature is designed for mobile use. You can text Quin from your phone, or use Chat or Email features in the web interface for similar functionality.

Can Quin send texts to other people?

Quin can only send text messages directly to you and to meeting attendees as automatic reminders. If you need to communicate with others, use Email Assistant to draft and send emails instead.

Do I get charged for texts with Quin?

Standard SMS rates from your mobile carrier apply. Quin doesn't charge for texting, but your carrier may charge per message depending on your plan.

Can I use a different phone number?

You can add multiple phone numbers in Settings > My profile and choose which is default. Quin will respond to texts from any verified number on your account.
