How Holistiplan and Quin keep tax planning details ready before a client meeting

A client review starts in a few minutes, and the number you need, the latest Roth conversion projection, a scenario analysis you ran last quarter, whether the tax return is finalized, lives in Holistiplan, not in your head. Getting to it means stepping out of whatever you're doing, opening Holistiplan, and finding the household among however many your practice manages.

None of that is hard. It's one more application to open in the minutes before a meeting that's already about to start, and the detail that would make the conversation sharper ends up left out because there wasn't time to go get it.

What tends to get skipped when time is short

  • The latest Roth conversion projection. Useful context for a conversation about timing a conversion, easy to skip if it means a separate lookup.
  • A scenario analysis run for that household. Especially relevant if the client asked about it last time and you said you'd follow up.
  • Whether a tax return or tax letter is finalized. A status detail that matters more than it seems until someone asks.
  • Which subsidiary or entity the household is under, for a practice managing more than one.

How Quin pulls this from Holistiplan

Ask Quin about a household directly, by name, and it searches Holistiplan and pulls back the tax planning detail tied to that record: income tax figures, Roth conversion projections, scenario analyses, tax reports, tax returns, and tax letter status. Holistiplan isn't treated as a CRM Quin keeps synced ahead of time, so this comes back when you ask about a specific household, not as a standing copy of everything in the account.

The household or client name needs to match what's in Holistiplan for Quin to find the right record, which matters more for a practice managing several subsidiaries under one structure.

Walking into a review already caught up

Picture a client who asked last quarter about converting part of a traditional IRA, and you told them you'd run the numbers again closer to year end. Ask Quin for that household's latest Roth conversion projection right before the call, and the answer comes back from Holistiplan directly, without a separate login and a search through however many households you manage.

The difference isn't just speed. It's walking into that conversation already holding the specific number the client is waiting on, instead of promising to follow up again.

Getting the most out of it

  • Use the exact household or client name Holistiplan has on file, since a mismatch is the most common reason a search comes back empty.
  • Ask about a household by name right before a meeting, rather than trying to remember the last time you checked its status.
  • Confirm which subsidiary a household sits under if your practice manages more than one, since that context comes along with the record.
  • Check that the connection shows Active in Settings if a search comes back empty, before assuming the record doesn't exist.

Setting it up

Connect Holistiplan under Settings, then Integrations, and complete the authentication steps for your Holistiplan account. From there, asking about a household by name is enough for Quin to pull its tax planning details directly into the conversation.
